This week, a number of friends commented to me that they were 'fiscal conservatives.' I won't dally with definitions of the phrase, but the explosion of the federal deficit, tax cuts for the wealthy, trade imbalance and recent bailout created a greater threat to US national security than terrorists, brought to you by a Republican Congress and President imposing flawed and failed policies. Maybe it's time to change it.
