Cape forums focus on Pilgrim nuclear plant
Two public forums are scheduled on the Cape this weekend focusing on the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth.
Two veteran watchdogs of Pilgrim will be featured at a forum at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eldredge Public Library on Main Street in Chatham.
The event, "Pilgrim Nuclear and Public Safety," is sponsored by the Cape Cod Chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Speakers Diane Turco and Sarah Thacher have participated in nonviolent civil disobedience at Pilgrim several times in an effort to raise public awareness.
On Sunday, State Sen. Daniel Wolf, D-Harwich, will discuss Pilgrim and risks related to Cape Cod at a 2 p.m. forum. at First Parish Brewster on Main Street in Brewster. This forum is also open to the public and is expected to end at 4 p.m.
