Government agents 'directly involved' in most high-profile US terror plots 21 Jul 2014 Nearly all of the highest-profile domestic terrorism plots in the United States since 9/11 featured the "direct involvement" of government agents or informants, a new report says. Some of the controversial "sting" operations "were proposed or led by informants", bordering on entrapment by law enforcement...A lengthy report, released on Monday by Human Rights Watch, raises questions about the US criminal justice system's ability to respect civil rights and due process in post-9/11 terrorism cases. It portrays a system that features not just the sting operations but secret evidence, anonymous juries, extensive pretrial detentions and convictions significantly removed from actual plots.

Journalists, Anti-Vaccine Campaigners Could Be Considered Terrorists Under UK Law 22 Jul 2014 The UK's terrorism laws are so broad they could be applied to journalists and their supporters, as well as crimes that have nothing to do with terrorism, according to a new report from the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation. David Anderson QC presented his report to Parliament today, and called on ministers to reverse the increasing "creep" of the laws in recent years...In his report, he claimed that the law could even be applied to someone who publishes an objection to vaccination, on the basis that could pose a risk to public health.

MDR replies to apparent Zionist sympathizer --Michael Rectenwald, CLG News, responds to critic who believes CLG treats 'Am Yisrael' unfairly By Lori Price, www.legitgov.org 22 Jul 2014 On Tuesday, CLG received an email from a subscriber. He wrote, "Lose my e-mail. Your reports are excessively tendentious against Am Yisrael." Dr. Michael Rectenwald provided the following response.
Dear S, Our posts have included no complaints about or criticisms of the Israeli people, per se. Our qualms are with the Israeli *government.* Similarly, we regularly criticize the U.S. government for its military expeditions and adventurism. By these criticisms, we imply nothing with respect to U.S. citizens, as such. We know that the majority, the working class, has no role in deciding international or other policies.

An open letter for the people in Gaza (The Lancet) 23 Jul 2014 We are doctors and scientists, who spend our lives developing means to care and protect health and lives. We are also informed people; we teach the ethics of our professions, together with the knowledge and practice of it. We all have worked in and known the situation of Gaza for years. On the basis of our ethics and practice, we are denouncing what we witness in the aggression of Gaza by Israel.

FAA Extends Travel Ban to Israel for Another 24 Hours 23 Jul 2014 The FAA announced today that they have not lifted their ban against travel to or from Tel Aviv's airport and will prohibit travel to the country for an additional 24 hours. "The agency is working closely with the Government of Israel to review the significant new information they have provided and determine whether potential risks to U.S. civil aviation are mitigated so the agency can resolve concerns as quickly as possible," the FAA said in a statement.

FAA Orders US Carriers to Suspend Flights to Tel Aviv 22 Jul 2014 American air carriers have suspended flights from the United Stated to Israel "for a period of up to 24 hours" after the FAA issued a warning in response to a rocket strike this morning near Tel Aviv's main airport, officials said. In a statement, the FAA said, "The notice was issued in response to a rocket strike which landed approximately one mile from Ben Gurion International Airport on the morning... [and] applies only to U.S. operators, and has no authority over foreign airlines operating to or from the airport," according to the statement.

Insane in the membrane: U.S. Senate sets $225 million for Israel's Iron Dome in emergency bill 22 Jul 2014 U.S. Senate DemocRATs included $225 million for Israel's Iron Dome rocket interception system in an emergency funding bill on Tuesday that also cut $1 billion from President Barack Obama's request for $3.7 billion to deal with thousands of undocumented child immigrants [so corpora-terrorists could eventually get more cheap labor]. More than 600 people - most of them Palestinians - have been killed in the current conflict between Israel and militants in Gaza...U.S. lawmakers tend to be heavily pro-Israel. [Too bad Detroit isn't Tel Aviv. Start reading.]

US: No link to Russian gov't in plane downing 22 Jul 2014 Senior U.S. intelligence officials said Tuesday that Russia was responsible for "creating the conditions" [?] that led to the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, but they offered no evidence of direct Russian government involvement. The intelligence officials were cautious in their assessment, noting that while the Russians have been arming separatists in eastern Ukraine [and US taxpayers fund - over $1 billion, thus far - the illegitimate Nazi regime in Ukraine], the U.S. had no direct evidence that the missile used to shoot down the passenger jet came from Russia. The officials briefed reporters Tuesday under ground rules that their names not be used in discussing intelligence related to last week's air disaster, which killed 298 people.

NYPD's Miller: No Likely Terror Connection in Brooklyn Bridge White Flag Placement 22 Jul 2014 American flags were once again flying on top of the Brooklyn Bridge Tuesday afternoon, after someone replaced the flags sometime overnight with what appeared to be whitewashed or faded versions of Old Glory. NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counterterrorism John Miller said police do not believe the incident was connected to any terror threat. Miller said as of around 8:30 p.m. Monday, the American flags were still flying on the Brooklyn and Manhattan towers of the bridge. But around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, construction workers noticed the white flags had taken their place.

Obama opens Eastern Seaboard to oil exploration --Obama administration approves sonic cannons, reopening US Eastern Seaboard to oil exploration [Oops! Looks like Obama used the MH17 disaster/Israel's invasion of Gaza to slide this act of eco-terrorism under the radar.] 18 Jul 2014 The Obama administration is reopening the Eastern Seaboard to offshore oil and gas exploration, approving seismic surveys using sonic cannons that can pinpoint energy deposits deep beneath the ocean floor. The cannons create noise pollution in waters shared by whales, dolphins and turtles, sending sound waves many times louder than a jet engine reverberating through the deep every ten seconds for weeks at a time. Arguing that endangered species could be harmed was the environmental groups' best hope for extending a decades-old ban against drilling off the U.S. Atlantic coast. The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management acknowledged that thousands of sea creatures will be harmed even as it approved opening the outer continental shelf from Delaware to Florida to exploration.

Appeals court throws out key IRS rule on Obamacare subsidies 22 Jul 2014 A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday threw out a federal regulation that implements key subsidies that are vital to President Barack Obama's healthcare overhaul. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit accepted one of the main legal challenges to the policy by conservatives opposed to an expansion of the federal government. A three-judge panel returned the case to a lower court with instructions to rule in favor of appellants who had sued to overturn the rule. The ruling has the potential to cripple the implementation of the law by making health insurance unaffordable for many people.

D.C. court ruling deals new blow to Affordable Care Act 22 Jul 2014 President Obama's healthcare law was dealt a new blow Tuesday as a federal appeals court ruled that due to a wording glitch in the Affordable Care Act, some low- and middle-income residents are not entitled to receive government assistance to subsidize their insurance. In a 2-1 vote, a panel of judges on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia rejected the Obama administration's argument that the problem was triggered by imprecise language in the complex law and that Congress had always intended to offer the subsidies nationwide to low- and middle-income people who bought insurance through one of the state or federal health exchanges created under the law.

'Sad' polar bear not moving to Canada, Argentine zoo says 22 Jul 2014 Argentina's last captive polar bear will remain in the country despite a petition by more than half a million people asking that he be moved to Canada. The director of the Mendoza Zoo [death trap] in western Argentina told The Associated Press Tuesday that the 28-year-old bear is too old to safely be relocated. Animal rights advocates say the bear named Arturo paces nervously in his concrete enclosure and suggest the animal suffers from depression. They have campaigned to move the bear to a zoo in Winnipeg, which has welcomed the idea. [Insurgents need to go in and free that bear from his torture chamber.]
