The "...More Happy Than Upset..." Election #2

BIG LEAGUES was the last theme that Steven Spataro invented for his opening comments.
.
Tonight's theme was "Are you more happy than upset with me because I did this for you..."
.
And he enumerated accomplishments that had little to do with him.
.
He claimed he 'saved you a quarter of a million dollars with the Public Safety Director.'
.
Has anyone figured out why we're hiring a new police chief?
.
What will it cost to buy out the contracts of the Police Chief AND the Fire Chief when and if the Charter change is approved? And how many years will that Charter change take to accomplish? Charter change requires legislative approval, AFTER town meeting has approved it. Steve, that must mean that we're looking at minimum 2 years before we see that $250K, right?
.
Maybe your supporters don't pay attention to the details, but some of us do.
.
Steve, you just gotta stop quoting figures when you make public comments.
.
You said the Town's budget was $50 MILLION. Ooopsie! It's + $60 MILLION, but that must have been the night you were text messaging.
.
After Steve's BIG LEAGUES speech, he continued to arrive late to meetings, text message during meetings, eat his supper and arrive unprepared.
.
Steve Spataro accepted the position of BOS representative to SRPEDD but after many months, indicated he hadn't attended any meetings and needed to be replaced.
.
To the detriment of the Town, Steven Spataro made a commitment to act as rep and ignored his commitment.
.
Until recently, he hasn't appeared at any meeting other than the Selectmen's Meetings on Monday nights.
.
Mr. Spataro never has the time needed to devote to the other duties of Selectmen, still refuses to have his phone number public -- his response this evening was 'call Jackie (the BOS secretary) and she'll give you my cell phone number.' He refused to make an email address public because of those horrible things sent to others.
.
Get a life, Steve!
.
All of us get spam emails daily for penis or breast enlargements, Viagra, phony lottery winnings. That's what they make the delete feature for.
.
Sometimes people just need to make a quick one line comment or ask a question that doesn't involve writing a letter.
.
When you can defend Sick And Tired Of This Crap there's a serious problem in Town Government.
.
The BOS was wrong and the meeting minutes are wrong.
.
When you received gifts and a free meal from the Town's business partner and believe it's acceptable, you can't continue to defend it.
.
When ComCast broadcasts Candidates' Night, it's worth the watch! Even if only to hear Steven Spataro claim credit for things over which he had no control and invested no time.
.
PS. Steve, you might want to read Carcieri v Slazar. It's not coming.

If Spatero didn't accept the gifts and meal, he would have been above reproach.

If Steve is reelected after the election he'll go back to his old routine. He did it last time. The man's without a clue.

Don't his kids go to private school?

How inappropriate was Hal's question targeted at Roger Haber?
Must see tv to see how demented and uninformed Hal is.

Glen McPherson told it like it is - you can't keep increasing spending in excess of revenues each year. You have to cut.

Spatero is just brain dead. No wonder the town is where it is. And voters believe him? He should text message full time.

Spot on commentary.

Diane Bassetts' comments were disappointing as usual. It doesn't sound like she read the decision or the article in the Cape Cod Times that explained the Tribe will have to pay back all of the investors' money. She hasn't figured out the Tribe got royally screwed.

In his list of accomplishments, Steve included the 'ring road.' What the hell did he have to do with it? I went to some of those meetings and spoke to the town planner when it was being discussed. Steve was NEVER there.

Get a life, Steve! Don't take credit for things others did while you sat at home. Stop lying!

As Forest Gump said "Stupid is as stupid does."

Listening to Steve Spataro's comments about the "Casino is coming! Casino is coming!" convinced me that he's delusional.

He's been listening to his friends, the Tribe too long.

See, Steve, that's what happens when you accept gifts. It clouds your judgement.

Before the casino, I had several conversation with Diane Baset that she wouldn't remember. She went into great detail about how proud she was of her African-American roots and all she had accomplished.
The Gayle Andrews came along and there seemed to be a prallel.
The proud African-American heritage discarded at the prospect of casino gold!

You're right about Hal!
Roger Haybar was gracious and handled his response beautifully. A question of that caliber could be expected from someone with no education.

MR, I don't always agree with you, but you're right on most of the time.
Spataro has warmed a seat for how long? A waste!

I hope those 2 men who keep questioning the BOS NEVER go away.
This disgusting Board has never been questioned when they did stupid things and broke the laws. It's time we all question them.

Rullo is another johnny come lately plant who's gonna be as bad as Minni May. He never attended bos meetings or watched. It shows.

Spatero only stayed on the G&E because he saved people's jobs. No one pays attention.

It's time for cuts in town govt. Steve isn't the one to do it.

More single issue candidates? Just what we need!

Thanks to the Gazette we get to see the disgusting behavior of the casino crowd.
Their anti-democratic attitude defines them.

Hal Brown's question defines his defective comprehension of the elected position. One might it expect it of his mouth-breathers.

Spataro comes up with some pretty lame themes!
How come he spends more time campaigning than he ever does doing the job of his elected office?

Anonymous said...

I've known Steve for years. Won't vote for him after the cheap shot comment. He shouldn't have taken the gifts, sociaized with the Tribe. Just bad form, Steve! You should have known better.

There were so many issues they could have discussed and then you get the casino supporters .........

Single issue voters.
Single issue candidates.
Single issue town.

The deficit is how much again?

Diane Baset has also mentioned how she applied for a job working for the town and was turned down because she was so qualified. I'm surprised she didn't play the race card. Are there any black females employed by the town?

Spataro is a clown
He saved jobs at the G&E
A debt?
Loyalty?
Maybe its time to reconsider
He sleeps at the wheel

We need to plan for the future

In response to the question, why are we hiring a new police chief. Because the current one will be retiring come July 1st I believe. His last actual day of work acording to the paper will be in May. WHY? Because of the contract the BOS allowed him to write for himself. Loads of sick days, comp days, 5 weeks vacation, personal days, etc. Then the good part is coming. If he chooses, he CAN and PROBABLY WILL buy his town owned vehicle. That to is in his contract. So now when we do hire a new chief, does he get to order himself a new car and write his own contract too? If not, could there be a law suit facing the town? I thought the current police chief stated there was no need for a fire chief, the fire department runs well on their own. So better yet, why did we hire a fire chief? All they needed if I remember correctly was just someone to report what's going on there to. Wasn't Chief Russell that someone. Is there a reason the other someone couldn't have been a captain or Lt. in the fire department rather than hire a fire chief?

how many others got blankets at the tribal pow wow?

Talking about charter change. you could be questioning why the charter change is being pushed so much, right at this time.
let's see, who on the BOS works for the state? What does the BOS commission over? Does a state worker get credit for all his/her years as that worker and then is able to become a town employee with more credit towards larger pensions? just think of all the commuting time that can be saved.

With any luck Middleboro will get wacked with a HUGE layoff of all the useless personnel. Starting with Roger, the layoff at least 5 cops, cut back in the clerical dept. with the assessors office, the planning board extra person not needed, etc. This is a MUST. Too many people doing nothing but taking up time, getting paid, wasting taxpayers money and over use of town owned vehicles. Shall I go on?
