Retired town manager willing to help town

The Herald News reports --

Freetown
A retired Middleboro town manager has offered to serve as Freetown’s interim part-time town administrator for a price of $800 per week after Town Administrator E. Winn Davis resigned last month.

John F. Healey, who lives in Middleboro, offered to work full days on Tuesday and Wednesday for Freetown and be available for the Monday night selectmen meetings. He also said he would help the town facilitate its next town administrator search.

Healey said although he would charge $800 per week, that cost would be free of health insurance charges, and he would make himself available by telephone for consultation. “I would not receive any benefits but would take four weeks unpaid vacation in the summer/fall of the year,” Healey wrote. “Because of my experience, and that of your long-term administrative assistant, I believe that we could continue to provide the town with the professional services that the town needs.”

He further added that if the town needed him for the entire fiscal 2010, it would cost the town $38,400 with no benefits — a big savings from the $75,000 plus benefits that Davis was making.

Will this job increase his pension?
Why won't he just go away and let some deserving person make a paycheck. Greed and power hungry. Misses the game.

You need to link the other things you posted about Southbridge and Fuzzy Math and Fuller St and oh, yeah, that casino thing he neogtiated.

$800 ????

Paleeze!

Should we take up a collection?

Isn't he making enough?

It took us long enough to get rid of him.

Make sure you get the keys back when he leaves.

Two phrases come to mind --

People get the government they deserve.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

Until the bloggers, the casino, the Recall, no one was paying attention.

How many times did Adam Bond say the Selectmen's Meeting room was empty except for the reporters?

Few were watching, but many were not pleased with their town government.

April 4th is your opportunity to begin a gradual change.

Vote for the status quo and elect the same names or vote for change.

You can remind friends and neighbors. Explain the issues from your perspective and increase voter turnout.

Or stay home and let others vote for you.

Jack Healey was a creation of a lazy board.

What has been euphemistically called a 'structural deficit' still exists.

The current town manager has, once again, used one time revenue to balance the budget.

If revenues only increase 2 1/2% per year, how could Wayne Perkins negotiate 36% pay raises and believe it made fiscal sense?

I thought Healey was in Kingston?
Yeah greed is all it is. He should be
thankful he got what he did out of middleboro, plus his son got a nice job
also from middleboro.

Can't we ever get rid of him?

Jack thinks he did great things. That's the problem when you believe you're the Messiah.

MR, you're right. We can fault Jack or Wayne all we want but we weren't paying atention.

That will not happen again in this houshold.

We almost got that damn casino stuffed down our throats because we weren't paying atention and it seems like Kingstown and Freetown are pretty uninformed.

Reminds me of Steve Spataro who was gonna vote for Dagostano. God help us if we had that clown.

Those people in Southbridge got screwed worse than Mboro. Trash and pollution up that keister. Some of them caught on to Jack's act.

What? Screw up another town?

Jack, find a hobby! Ever think of needlework?

We'll forever be grateful to Wareham for sending us Jack!

Will the man's ego never quit? He sucked as Town Manager, was rude arrogant, never responsive. He set the tone for conduct that was out of the gutter. He targeted people over the bos objections. If Jack ever gets away from this town it will take years to change the tone. Get a life, Jack!

Big fish little pond.
Little fish big pond.

I think Jack is more about power than money. I hope the people in Freetown do their homework before getting involved with him. He could finagle a sale of the southern shore of Long Pond for a pittance as a honky tonk amusement park, "Healey World".

Is the Freetown BOS as stupid as the Mboro BOS?
Pat Rogers and Steve Spataro would have hired Bob Saguets buddie dagostino troublemaker extraordinaire.

Why can't Jack the ass take some of the rectums that worked so well with him in Middleboro on his many new jobs? That would certainly help Middleboro. Starting with department heads and cops. How long will it take him to get some pull to pull the slack in town with him? Granted he can't take the disgusting board with him.

The only one or thing Jack ever cared about was himself, the money and how best to take advantage of the taxpayers. He did GREAT at all of the above at our expense money wise, dividing the town and the problems still go on.
