Collaboration? Just Look Around

Just a quick look around at what other communities in the Commonwealth are considering, examining, questioning, should make a Middleboro resident wonder where the Town is.
.
Middleboro may not have shellfish, but are the Town Fathers even considering where else we might save, collaborate or achieve greater efficiencies?
.
If you listen to Gavel Queen Marsha Brunelle who keeps telling you that the Town is bare bones now, I guess you need look no further.
.
Let's look around at what others at doing. Take a look at - LINK
.

Although members are hesitant to list what services they will be talking about, the list of 30 brainstormed items includes dispatch and ambulance services, inspectors, shellfish propagation, assessing, wastewater and laboratory needs.

.
Still, no matter how difficult the conversations are, and how many toes get stepped on, the discussions are necessary, members believe. Even Chatham, a community that is sometimes the butt of jokes in neighboring towns because of its go-it-alone attitude, is fully committed to exploring a partnership with its neighbor.
.
“We have an obligation to the taxpayer to look into this,” said Chatham Selectwoman Florence Seldin, also a member of the group. “We are just starting.”

.
Where is Middleboro? Are we even discussing regional issues? Are we considering a regional water supply? Are we considering how the town could operate more efficiently?
.
Is Middleboro even considering new, different, more efficient ideas? Or do they stop at the town line?
.
Is there any leadership on the Middleboro BOS other than the newly elected members?
.
As a footnote: I don't consider planting flowers to be leadership when the Town and the Commonwealth are confronting such major challenges.
.
Mimi: Get a clue!

I've been wondering why Marsha sits so close to Pat Rogers in the BOS meetings. I guess she thinks the town can save money if they sit in the same chair.

Middleboro has been such a good friend to our neighbors throughout the casino debacle, I would be surprised if any neighboring towns would even want to work with us.

Let Mimi plant all the flowers she wants cause I hear she's working on establishing a permanent rainbow over the town, and she wants all selectmen's meetings to begin with releasing butterflies.

Do you think Mimi ever looks at what her building looks like? Has anyone asked her?
