God WAS in Sandy Hook Elementary, Mr. Huckabee

One-time presidential candidate and current full-time buffoon Mike Huckabee said the following on Fox News in the aftermath of the Newtown shooting:

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?”

Message to Mr. Huckabee and the other disturbed souls who harbor such inane beliefs: God was fully present in Sandy Hook on Friday. Her name was Rachel Davino, Dawn Hochsprung, Anne Marie Murphy, Lauren Rouseau, Mary Sherlach, and Victoria Soto – the six courageous women who gave their lives for the precious children in their care.

And God was, it increasingly appears, notably and heartbreakingly absent from the troubled home and mind of Nancy Lanza — the mother of the shooter who is emerging to have been a weapons collector and a paranoid “prepper” in the ilk of so many other strange and troubled people who have lost all perspective in these challenging times and opted to wall themselves off from society.
