Defining the Moral Bankruptcy of a Nation when its Citizens Go Hungry

America should be ashamed!

Please add your name to the petition below!

This is the e-mail we had hoped not to send—but today’s news required it.

Please sign our petition denouncing the U.S. House for cutting food stamps by $8.7 billion—and urge the Democratically-controlled Senate to hold the line against cuts.

By a vote of 251-166, the U.S. House passed a Farm Bill that was made behind closed doors, giving huge subsidies to agribusiness—while cutting food stamps by over $8 billion. These cuts will impact 2,000,000 Americans.

The Farm Bill now goes to the Democratically-controlled U.S. Senate—where it faces a vote later this week. We need to let the Senate know that any food stamp cuts are unacceptable.

Sign our petition denouncing the House for passing food stamp cuts, and urging the Senate to reject them.

Keep fighting,
Chris Bowers, Daily Kos
