TOYOTA CAMRY crashes through store in West Bridgewater, injures pedestrian

This highlights the potential jeopardy we all face whether an innocent pedestrian struck by a TOYOTA that has failed or an operator with a possibly OUT-OF-CONTROL TOYOTA being charged.

There is NO EVIDENCE that the TOYOTA CAMRY was examined for TIN WHISKERS or SOFTWARE FAILURE...merely mechanical....that's the TOYOTA PROBLEM!

How come so many STORE FRONT CRASHES are caused by TOYOTAS?

WEST BRIDGEWATER – Police have cited a Brockton woman for driving to endanger after she struck a pedestrian outside a Dunkin Donuts on Route 106, then drove into the building.

Maria Lopez, 54, of Brockton was cited after the June 22 crash that injured pedestrian Joao Simoes, 46, of Taunton, who was reportedly out with his wife getting his morning coffee when the crash occurred.

Lopez, driving a gold-colored Toyota Camry, struck Simoes then crashed into the glass entrance of Dunkin’ Donuts at 387 West Center St., police said. Chaos erupted as store employees and bystanders rushed to help.

The impact shattered a large panel of glass at the door’s entrance, cut a large white column off the building and bent a large metal pole.

Simoes was sent by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

An investigation found there was no mechanical malfunction with the Camry and police believe driver error caused the crash, police Lt. Vic Flaherty said in an e-mail to The Enterprise.

“An investigation and inspection into the brakes and accelerator of the vehicle was conducted and believe (to be) in good working order,” Flaherty said. “Appears no defects in vehicle.”

There are inadequate details to determine WHO examined the TOYOTA CAMRY and their level of expertise. Was it a software expert? someone with expertise in determining if a malfunction was caused by TIN WHISKERS?

Police and fire responded to the scene after receiving several emergency calls at 11:25 a.m. on June 22. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation unit of the Plymouth County sheriff’s department also responded.
