"I'm Animal Friendly" license plate

If you're considering one of the 'special plates' available.....

NESAA gets $5,000 from MAC's "I'm Animal Friendly" license plate

Grant to be used for spaying and neutering services
Last month, the New England Society for Abandoned Animals (NESAA) announced the receipt of a $5,000 grant from the Westborough-based Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC). The funds were raised through the coalition's popular "I'm Animal Friendly" license plate.

The "I'm Animal Friendly" license plate is one of several charitable plates now available through the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. According to MAC's website, the plate is available for $40. Of that initial $40, $28 will go to the charity and $12 will go towards manufacturing the plate.

Subsequent renewal fees will go entirely to the charity. Motorists are required to pay the standard registration fee as well.

Each year MAC disperses the funds from the plates to non-profit humane organizations, such as NESAA, and municipal animal control programs that provide spaying and neutering, according to their website.

"To date, NESAA has supported over 5,500 animals and we're geared up to add some 1,000 this year," said NESAA Founder & President Deborah Doe. "The support from the Massachusetts Animal Coalition and the public who supports the 'I'm Animal Friendly" license plate is crucial."

For more information about supporting or volunteering for NESAA, call 508-771-7800 or visit their website here.
