People's Climate March!

The message below is from Sierra Club.

We've seen the damage tar sands pipelines have caused...

we've seen what exploding trains have done....

Join with others and support the environment....

Sierra Club - Explore, enjoy and protect the planet

Tell world leaders stop tar sands exploitation.

RSVP now for the People's Climate March!

"Game over for the climate." That's how NASA climatologist James Hansen described tar sands exploitation.

We know that tar sands are a disaster for the climate, for clean air and water, and for our communities' health. We know, too, that the only place they belong is in the ground -- not mined from beneath the boreal forest in Canada, not shunted through our communities in dangerous pipelines and bomb trains, and not spilled in our neighborhoods and our drinking water.

Now imagine this -- Indigenous leaders fighting tar sands from the extraction sacrifice zones in Alberta, communities fighting tar sands pipelines like Keystone XL and the Alberta Clipper, communities in the shadow of refineries and those fighting export terminals, and activists from everywhere in between... all coming together to show that we won't stop fighting until tar sands are stopped at the source.

On September 21, tens of thousands of people from all over the country will take over the streets of New York City to demand real action on climate. RSVP now to be a part of the movement.

Who: You, your friends, neighbors, family, tens of thousands of others
What: The People's Climate March
When: Sunday, September 21st
Where: New York City (route)

After you RSVP, sign up for a special kickoff call this coming Monday.

This is a crucial moment -- everyone will be watching New York as world leaders prepare for the U.N. Summit just days later. We need you to make sure the message is loud and clear: it's time for America to lead the world by taking bold action on climate and pollution.

You have the power to make this a tipping point. RSVP now to join the fight at the People's Climate March.

Thank you for all you do,

Michael Brune
Sierra Club Executive Director

P.S. If this march is going to be big enough to get the world's attention, we need all hands on deck. After you RSVP,  share it on Facebook and Twitter to get the word out.
