If each of us kicks in a few dollars, this fighting team can be reunited!
When
Sgt. Hulsey applied to be a handler for a contract working dog in Afghanistan in
the fall of 2010, he didn’t realize how strong of a bond he’d form with his
four-legged partner. But that all changed when he met CWD Jjoe.
For
the next seven months, the two became inseparable as they searched for and
identified explosive devices in Marja, Afghanistan. But sadly the pair was
forced to part ways in the fall of 2011, when Jjoe was sent back for another
tour while Sgt. Hulsey was set to retire and come home to U.S. soil.
These
working dogs do so much to ensure the safety of not only our country, but the
humans they serve with - it’s estimated that each dog saves the lives of between
150-200 soldiers through the detection of IEDs and weapons caches. It is our
mission to ensure the safe return of every military and contract working dog
after their selfless service to our nation is completed - but we can’t do it
without you.
