September 9th Massachusetts Primary!

Please consider casting your VOTE on Sept. 9th for Maura Healey!

Progressive Massachusetts

At Progressive Massachusetts, we do endorsements differently. Our sustaining members, who are invested in our long-term vision, make our endorsements -- not a small executive committee of political insiders.

Our sustaining members have voted to endorse Maura Healey for Attorney General. Whether taking on big banks, defending access to women's health care, advancing civil rights, and marriage equality, Maura has shown what an engaged and progressive Attorney General can do. She will lead on criminal justice reform, protecting children, and reducing gun violence, with bold and new ideas for our state. And, Maura's the only candidate for Attorney General with the independence to stand up to casino gambling. We are proud to support her in this campaign.

For some voters, this was a difficult choice, but in the end, Maura’s dedication to civil rights, and her overwhelming experience in the Attorney General’s office, in particular, secured her endorsement. Kevin L., of Hull, summed it up well:

While I believe both candidates are very progressive and will make outstanding AGs, Maura Healey’s background in defending Marriage Equality, Consumer Advocacy, and Women's' Rights give her an edge. Her position on expanded gambling in the Commonwealth is also preferable to Mr. Tolman's. I enthusiastically endorse Ms. Healey to be our next AG.

Also important to many members is the potential to make Massachusetts the first in the nation to elect an openly gay woman to state Attorney General.

As you likely know, we began with the central premise that to create the kind of transformative progressive change we need, we must build, sustain and invest in grassroots infrastructure. So we are building the activist infrastructure to pass important progressive legislation, and a part of this includes helping get progressives like Maura Healey elected to office. Contribute to Progressive Mass to promote this change. Volunteer with her campaign to elect Maura Healy for Attorney General.

Sincerely,
Ben Wright
Director
