*UPDATE* We have a heartbreaking update on our beloved Amelia! Her once huge open gash had been healing nicely & holding and then, all of the sudden, the femur bone snapped in two pieces. Why can't this amazing dog catch a break?

So after Rescue Dogs Rock’s vet consulted with not 1, but 2 board certified orthopedic surgeons it was determined that because the wound had been open for so long with bone exposed, infection had crept in & there must have been a very tiny knick to the bone at time of injury (stabbing likely) Sadly the only option now is to amputate her leg.

Amelia also has an old untreated, but healed fracture on her other leg so we hope she will be ok. She's still very thin & also heart worm positive.
