these monsters put cyanide in oranges to poison elephants for their tusks

Earlier this year, Cecil the Lion was lured out of his home in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park. Days later, he was found shot, skinned, and beheaded. All for sport.

Last week in the very same park, 14 elephants were poisoned to death with cyanide-laced oranges. Why? So poachers could cut off their tusks and sell their ivory.

It’s monstrous. And it’s exactly why we need to pass Initiative 1401.

Frank, our election is 21 days away. Will you chip in $5 or more to help us protect elephants, lions, and eight other precious animals from the threat of extinction?

An elephant is poached every 15 minutes. If we let this continue, this majestic animal could go extinct in the wild in our lifetime.

By passing our ballot initiative in Washington next month, we can take a HUGE step towards protecting animals facing extinction -- and set a model for other states to take action.

Please do your part to bring these species back from the brink. Chip in $5 or more today >>

Thanks for your support,

When it comes to saving many threatened and endangered animals, we are in a race against extinction. Passing Initiative 1401 on November 3rd, 2015 will help us win that race.
I-1401 is a Washington State ballot measure that is designed to help save animals threatened with extinction. The measure would prohibit the purchase, sale, and distribution of products made from a list of 10 endangered animals being exploited to the point of potential extinction, and will be enforced by strong penalties. The animals protected by I-1401 include elephants, rhinos, lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, marine turtles, pangolins, sharks and rays.
To pass I-1401, philanthropist Paul G. Allen and Vulcan Inc. are joined by some of the nation’s leading conservation and zoological organizations, including: the Humane Society of the United States, Wildlife Conservation Society (96 Elephants Campaign), WildAid, National Wildlife Federation, African Wildlife Foundation, Born Free USA, Woodland Park Zoo, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium, the Sierra Club (Washington State chapter), Washington Conservation Voters, the International Fund for Animal Welfare. We hope you’ll join us in the campaign to Save Animals Facing Extinction.
