If last night's Iowa Caucus held you in suspense and you can't wait to cast your vote in the upcoming presidential primary, February 10 is a date you will want to remember. Town clerks across the Cape are reminding residents that Wednesday, February 10 is the deadline to register to vote if you want to participate in the presidential primary on Tuesday, March 1.
February 10 also happens to be the deadline for registered voters who wish to change their party enrollment (Republican, Democrat or unenrolled) in time for the primary.
Voter registration forms are available in the town clerk's office at your town hall and online here. To register to vote in the Commonwealth, you must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 on or before the next election and a resident of Massachusetts. You may register to vote online, by mail and in person at your town clerk's office. If you registered to vote in the past, but are concerned about your status (inactive voters), you may check your status online here
For more information about registering and voting in your town, contact your town clerk: BarnstableBourneBrewsterChathamDennisEasthamFalmouthHarwichMashpeeOrleansProvincetownSandwichTruroWellfleetYarmouth. Some town clerk's offices are open late on February 10 to accommodate residents.
Complete voter registration information is available on the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts website here.
