Never mind the FACTS....just think about it.
Why would a For Profit Corporation spend gazillions to promote exclusive education that they can profit from?
For Profit Anything SUCKS!
We've seen their failures. Let's not sacrifice CHILDREN.
There's going to be a question on the ballot this year about charters.
A lot of money will be spent by some very, very rich people to try to convince you that more charters is a good idea.
If it was such a hot idea, why don't states with vastly more charters than MA have vastly better results?
Here's the facts: A deal was offered to the pro-charter forces that would have significantly increased the number of charters and seats for charter students... if charters agreed to take in ANY student from the district by changing the admissions process from opt-in to opt-out (so every student would get the chance to go to a charter who wants to), and could meet or exceed the attrition rates of the other public schools in their district.
The pro-charter groups balked, because they know they can't compete if they don't get to screen who they let in, and can't force out under-performing students.
And we're not going to improve the quality of our state's educational system with a policy of increasing the number of "public" schools that screen out students coming in, and boot under-performing students out.
This will help you to decide to vote against lifting the Charter school cap in November.
We've seen the abuse and neglect caused by FOR PROFIT PRISONS.....
We've seen the failures of Bogus FOR PROFIT COLLEGES that exaggerate their success....before filing for bankruptcy like CORINTHIAN....
and there's Donald Trump's fraudulent university....
...and there's that legal matter his supporters have ignored.....
We've seen the failure of HEALTH CARE caused by FOR PROFIT companies ordering expensive and unnecessary tests, providing poor care yet raking in PROFITS......
