VoteVets.org: How President Trump's hiring freeze hurt my military family

Our family is stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany where my husband serves in the U.S. Army and our youngest child attends preschool.

Yesterday morning, while picking our child up from school, I received a letter that all part-day Child and Youth Services will close due to the federal hiring freeze. There's been a lot of talk about how that executive order disproportionately impacts veterans and military families, and this is just another example.

There is almost no better predictor of future scholastic success than early learning for children, and President Trump's freeze is taking that away from our child. It hurts. He needs to understand that this hiring freeze has a real impact on people's lives. Countless military families.

This has inspired me to act, and I hope you'll join me:

Sign VoteVets petition calling on President Trump to reverse his ill-considered federal hiring freeze that disproportionately and negatively impacts veterans and military families who have served, and are currently serving around the globe.

While I don't think it was ever President Trump's intent to hurt military families, the fact is, he has. There was a better way for this to be done if he would have taken the time to find it.

Please add your name if you agree he should reverse course on this federal hiring freeze.

Thank you,
