Borneo (Kalimantan): A Frontline For Survival Of Our Planet
by Andre Vltchek

What I saw in Borneo simply shocked me. From now on I’ll refuse to shut up. If Indonesians themselves are too scared or too programmed to address the situation, I’ll try to do it myself.

Does It Really Matter If Netanyahu Ends Up Behind Bars?
by Neve Gordon

At least two probes dealing with serious allegations of bribery, breach of trust and fraud seem likely to end with an indictment against Israel’s premier. Towards An Alternative Politics
by Sheshu Babu

Gujarat assembly fiasco in electing members to Rajya Sabha is an addition to the political muddle facing India. The comment of Jairam Ramesh that Congress is in existential crisis and similar views expressed by Mani Shankar Aiyer can be broadly applied to the political system as a whole.

Chellenges Await President Kovind
by Oliver DSouza

Will President Kovind display the same commitment to the Constitution that Zail Singh and Narayanan exhibited or will he bend to the agenda of those who made him President? Will he bring India back to the Constitutional path or will he become part of the problem? Will he turn into a statesman for the nation or will he become a spokesperson for Hindutva? Time will tell. For now let’s celebrate the fact that we have another Dalit President.

Condemn Exploitation And Harassment Of Workers At Vivo India Pvt. Ltd

The work conditions at Vivo are indicative of the absolutely shocking nature of employment which is being created as a result. The dreadful work conditions, abuses in the hands of the management, peanuts in the name of salary, zero increment despite months of work symbolize the nature of job that Vivo Company offers. It reflects a system of wage slavery where people are hired and fired at-will. It is frighteningly reminiscent of Foxxcon (Shenzen, China) which became infamous for spate of suicides by its workers in 2010.
