Route 44 Toyota: Illegal Business Practice

Discovering that Route 44 Toyota had run illegal credit inquiries in violation of FCRA [Fair Credit Reporting Act], notifications and complaints were launched.

Toyota USA Corporate responding with the disappointing, not unexpected  'our dealers are independent' that they must believe allows them to escape culpability. They're already named in a court complaint.

Credco, to their credit [no pun intended] has indicated that they will remove the illegal credit inquiries, request signed credit applications [none were ever signed] and investigate the matter.

Their first thought was that maybe this was fraud - identity theft, someone impersonating.

NOPE!

Just Route 44 Toyota thinking nothing of making illegal credit inquiries for no reason other than nosiness.

If you were victimized by Route 44 Toyota, you can contact Credco to remove the illegal credit inquiry from your credit report [remember that it reduces your FICO score] --

In addition taking that action, this is a significant violation of federal law, FCRA.

This is a Federal Case!
