When inexplicable tragedy strikes....the kind that feels like it reaches in and rips out your innards...there are few who can relate.
I was at the Veteran's Administration in Brockton and ALL eyes were glued to the television which provided scant information in the early hours....cell phones of friends...loved ones...acquaintances who were running the Marathon....
The fear was palpable.....how do you allay that fear?....
The rescues....the grieving....the heroism...the lengthy recovery....the support....the celebration of lives saved and heroes.....folks who ran TOWARD in order to save others.....it makes you love Boston!
Is the face of tragedy the perpetrator? or is it the victims?
