***4-LB. EMACIATED SENIOR DUMPED FOR "PET HEALTH" -PLEASE GRANT TINY A DEATH ROW PARDON!!!*** Poor 12-year-old TINY arrived at the kill-happy ACC nearly starved to death; her reason for betrayal? Tiny is "eating more & not gaining weight, now can't move mouth, staying half open." No WONDER she weighs just 4 pounds & has missing/rotting teeth. This lovely little white girl with gray smudges on her head has lived with other cats & was "PLAYFUL" with them; she also is a well-mannered sensible senior who "ALWAYS" uses her litter box. But the ACC plans to kill her tomorrow at noon via lethal injection, as if she was a common criminal. Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt sad senior TINY from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can't save TINY yourself, please SHARE her sad story & PLEDGE for her rescue!

A volunteer writes: Mar is a little brindle delight with a heart shaped nose. And that heart is just the beginning of what you will find when you meet this little girl. Initially shy inside the building, she allowed me to carry her outside. She took a few minutes to figure out how to walk on the leash and 'got it' immediately. Smart girl, our Mar. As she walked, her tail wagged and she did little happy dog scampers from time to time. Mar was brought to us by someone with whom she lived for a few days and we are told that she lived with 3 children under the age of 13, likes kids and knows sit and stay. Mar seems to like other dogs, mostly ignoring those close by, interested but not engaging. What Mar loves best is snuggling with her human. She's a needy little puppy who loves being on the lap, loves being caressed and kissed and snuggles close for the optimum kissing position. She lays across my lap, happy after our snuggle fest, to simply be together. Mar is stunning
in her nicely taken care of brindle and tan coat, her weight perfect for her size. Our snuggle bunny is looking for a snuggle partner to love. She's an awesome little girl hoping to meet her forever family
who will help her grow up into the rockstar adult dog she is destined to be. Don't pass up the opportunity to meet her and be prepared to snuggle. It doesn't get better than a Marsnuggle.

Dog alerts family to child abuse

Alexis Khan, a South Carolina woman who had been hired to care for Benjamin and Hope Jordan's seven month old son, has been sentenced to one to three years in prison after pleading guilty to abuse charges. The family dog is credited with alerting his family that something was wrong with their babysitter:
"About five months into her being our baby sitter, we started to notice that our dog was very defensive of our son when she would come in the door," Jordan said. "He was very aggressive towards her and a few times we actually had to physically restrain our dog from going towards her.'The now suspicious parents had a plan.
Hope suggested they place an I-phone under the couch and let the phone record what happens while they were at work.
When the couple got home, they listened to the tape and were horrified what they heard.
"It started with cussing," Jordan said. "Then you hear slap noises and his crying changes from a distress cry to a pain cry. I just wanted to reach through the audio tape, go back in time and just grab him up."
Video interview with the family can be found here.

My name is Sam. I am a 4 yr old spayed female brown/white pit bull mix. My owner left me here on August 31. Very sweet girl!! Sam lived with an unspayed GSD for the past year. They have been getting into fights; owner wants to breed the GSD so she dumped Sam here. Sam has lots of fresh bite marks and wounds as well as old scars. This poor girl has been mistreated and needs a great, loving home!!

I share these photos to help get these dogs seen and perhaps find homes. I do not work for the shelter nor do I rescue, pull or do chipins. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the shelter directly to find out its availability. NOTE: Pit breeds are only getting 4-5 days before they’re killed so those are always urgent!!

Most animals in shelters will be euthanized. Most of them were someone's pet, a family member, simply dumped or abandoned, many left at High Kill Shelters. By the time you read this, many will have been euthanized.

If you're considering a furry family members, please consider shelters and rescues first.
