Missy is only two years old and needs our help tonight from her fate tomorrow. Without a foster or adopter and a New Hope partner, she will surely die tomorrow. A volunteer writes: "Missy was a little standoffish when we first met. May be we needed proper introductions as we did not know each other....Taking it slowly was the answer. Missy and I went for a walk. She trots beautifully, almost heeling by my side. She eliminates as we go and seems to meet other dogs in a very courteous way. She does not mind posing for pictures and even cocks her head to look cute, may be. Missy loves treats and sits right away for them. Her eyes sparkle, her mouth is open in anticipation....She can catch liver treats in mid air. She is quite good at it... Missy likes my treats so much that she forages for them in my goodies bag. " Though shall not steal ! ". I wave my finger in front of her in dismay. Missy looks puzzled. Dogs never steal...treats are made to be eaten. She answers with a kiss. The ice is definitively broken between us. I really like Missy. She might look stern but there are lots of good feelings inside her, just waiting to be discovered. Missy is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping to be soon your forever best friend.

URGENT IN PHILLY PA!!!!!
Smokey, like his namesake, is a big giant teddy bear just dying for a real home and someone to love. He had a home once, but unfortunately he wasn't very well cared for and was surrendered because his owners felt that at only 8 years old--barely middle age--he was past his prime. His previous owners described him as a lap cat who likes to be with people, but it doesn't appear he has had much brushing lately and would really benefit from a nice spa treatment to restore that gorgeous, fluffy gray coat back to normal. And he's a big boy, so a healthy eating and exercise plan wouldn't hurt him either. But those amazing eyes tell the story: he wants to be a cherished family member and surely would give you every bit of that affection back in return. Smokey is very sweet and curious and is making lots of new friends here, but he has yet to meet his forever friend, the one who will spring him from the shelter and give him the pampered life he truly deserves. Could you be his forever friend?

In the peak of kitten season Happy Homes has pulled over 80 kittens and have been hit with a lot of medical bills to keep them healthy. They are trying to fund raise money for some of their larger bills. They are a small rescue that provides the up most care to their foster cats. If you are able to help, now is the time as they need it mostly for the 2 kittens that are now fighting for their lives tonight in 2 emergency hospitals.
Twinkie (A0975623-Abigail) admitted to Redbank for pneumonia bill is estimated at $2800

Mercedes (A0973961) admitted to North star bill for pneumonia is estimated to be $1500
...
Monkey (A096022) We tried to urgently save him from an infected bite wound bill was $800. Sadly he went septic and passed away.
Please consider making a contribution, any amount will be appreciated. Thank you

***NEW BEGINNINGS**
When Elyce rescued Mack from the euth list in February no one realized how ill Mack had become at the ACC. He had a VERY bad case of pneumonia – complete with vomiting blood! – Mack was in a very bad state physically. But luck was on Mack’s side and the very capable and loving hands of his new mom nursed him back to health. Today Mack is enjoying his New Beginning swimming with his new BFF (and sister) Reggie! Welcome to the Urgent Family !

HAPPY TAILS!!!

Remember scared dog Donna clinging to her previous owner's (and yes we all want to add some not-so-nice words to it) leg??? Here is happy tail pictures!!! You know...sometimes things happen for a reason. I'm so glad that Bella (new name)

Miss Bella Bradshaw (formerly Donna of Hood County Animal Control) is settling into her furrever home nicely *happy dance*

Miss Bella Bradshaw (formerly Donna of Hood County Animal Control) is settling into her furrever home nicely *happy dance* family photo to follow this weekend!

It is with great sadness and a burdened heart that we have to announce that our adorable Lulu has passed away. The biopsy showed that the extreme swelling of her face was from an extremely aggressive cancer. It was so shocking to know that all that change and destruction had happened so quickly in a pup that was less than 3 months old. The shelter could not let her suffer any longer. We want to thank all the people that supported Little Lulu emotionally and financially and gave us the chance to try to help her and at least to provide the best care she could receive in the short time we got to know her. Lulu was very brave and loving until the end. She is now free from pain and can join all our other pets at the bridge. Donations raised for Lulu's care will go to other animals in need via the Noble Friends Foundation.
