Share the story of the Allpress family and other Nebraskans in the path of Keystone XL by sending these postcards to Barack Obama and other key decision makers: http://boldnebraska.org/postcard

Pictured: Noel, Bob, and Nancy Allpress at the entrance to their ranch in Keya Paha County.

Bob Allpress’s great grandfather William Allpress and his family arrived by wagon on the south side of the Keya Paha River in 1882, where they set up a homestead. At that time, the north side... of the river was still populated by Sioux tribes. After the Sioux ceded the land to the US Government and opened it for settlement in 1886, Bob’s grandfather, great uncle, and two great aunts moved across the river and established joined homesteads along Alkali Creek. All four homesteads were eventually gathered together as one ranch and have been in the family for the last 127 years.

The proposed Keystone XL pipeline route traverses the Allpress property by crossing over a Sioux burial site, passing behind Bob’s house before exiting through the front gate of his brother’s home. ‪#‎NoKXL‬

This is one of the most important graphs of 2013. Even as the United States makes significant reductions in domestic carbon emissions, we're digging up more fossil fuels than ever before. Read more here: http://wapo.st/19T6lnd

And SHARE if you think the U.S. needs to keep that carbon in the ground, not just sell it to be burned somewhere else!

Bernie Sanders Exposes 18 CEOs who took Trillions in Bailouts, Evaded Taxes and Outsourced Jobs

Sen. Bernie Sanders fired back at 80 CEOs who wrote a letter lecturing America about deficit reduction by released a report detailing how 18 of these CEOs have wrecked the economy by evading taxes and outsourcing jobs.

80 CEO’s raised the ire of Sen. Sanders by publishing a letter in the Wall Street Journal urging America to act on the deficit, and reform Medicare and Medicaid.

Sen. Sanders responded to the lecture from America’s CEO’s by releasing a report that detailed how 18 of them have helped blow up the deficit and wreck the economy by outsourcing jobs and evading US taxes.

Watch: Koch Brothers Caught Red-Handed Buying Economics Professors and Studies

Apparently unsatisfied with simply buying politicians, the Koch Brothers have turned their attention and pocketbooks to purchasing economics professors of supposedly “public” universities and funding economic studies which support their extreme right-wing economic theories.

Brilliantly exposed by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow in this 4-minute segment, this new tactic is being deployed by the billionaire brothers in order to promulgate their demonstrably false economic theories, such as trickle-down taxation and the busting of labor unions.

This is how the billionaire brothers’ dangerous myths are able to seep into our universities’ curriculums and economic journals, instilling a false academic justification for economic policies that hurt the middle and working class while lining their own corporatist pockets.

Please watch the video below and share this and other related articles on social media forums so that we can expose the Koch Brothers and their sinister purchasing of our economic discourse.
