Be A Hero: Save A Life!

So many wonderful shelter pets share this same wish. Adopt. Don't shop!

Tuxedo, 97750 *Available for Adoption, Foster or Rescue in Raleigh, NC*

Please meet Tuxedo! He is a volunteer favorite! We met this boy today and one of the shelter volunteers absolutely fell in love with him. Not only was he gentle but he also was very well behaved. Tuxedo didn’t bark much and didn’t pull at all. He just jumped on volunteers lap and wanted to be loved on.

Tuxedo’s story: He was found in a park in Sanford, NC, being chased by people while swinging a board ...at him. The people that found him yelled at the people to stop chasing him and loaded him in their car and drove him to their house because they were afraid for his safety. They kept him for 2 weeks and tried repeatedly to find a home for him, even had an appt to get him neutered before he would be able to leave their home. Through no fault of their own or his they had to make the decision to take him to the shelter. You see they have two dogs already and the rental company saw them with a third dog and told them they had to give up one. I advised them against the shelter because I hate it when any animal has to be put in that situation, high stress and uncertainty, and I know how hard you all work to save those precious lives, I've even participated myself with transport. Under the circumstances I don't know what else they could have done. I wish I could have helped in this situation, more than just sharing him on fb before he was taken there, but I too have the max number of animals I'm allowed by my rental. He is such a sweet boy! I hope he gets a loving home soon! I understand that part of his adoption fee has been sponsored by these good Samaritans.

Additional info: Tuxedo has done well with other dogs but he needs proper introduction and time to warm up.

Remember Bella? The sad pup that was adopted at the last minute? Well - the adopter dumped her right back at the same shelter she got her from. From all of the comments I've been reading the adopter said would hire a trainer to introduce Bella to her dog properly. She didn't and the dogs didn't get along so she's back at the shelter. PLEASE share her!!! She's at the Shelter in Carson CA

A Christmas miracle has happened for last night's 11 cats. The entire list is reserved and SAFE!! Thank you to everyone who helped share and advocate for these cats. They will now have a "Happy Holiday" in SAFETY.

Special thanks to HVARS for pulling 10 of the 11 cats so they would not have to die on Christmas Eve!!

Most animals in shelters will be euthanized. Most of them were someone's pet, a family member, simply dumped or abandoned, many left at High Kill Shelters. By the time you read this, many will have been euthanized.

If you're considering a furry family members, please consider shelters and rescues first.
Contribute what you can to local shelters and rescue groups to save lives. Maybe it's TIME, a precious commodity. Or maybe it's $5. It matters.

Distance should not hinder your decision.

Support Spay & Neuter programs to reduce this tragedy! We have much work to do.
Just a reminder.....

We know we are 'preaching to the choir' here. Thank you for caring enough to want to help needy animals. But please share with your friends/relatives who may NOT be aware of this. Thank you
