http://www.countercurrents.org/zeese140914.htm
All of the elements required to create climate justice seem to be in place. The climate movement can put hundreds of thousands on the streets, organize creative civil resistance, get thousands to risk arrest and mobilize blockades of tar sands, fracking, oil pipelines and mountain top removal

By Mickey Z.

I could go on and on detailing the damage done by Edward Bernays and his ilk yet never keep up with the deluge. Book Review: Confess The Bleak
By Nilantha Ilangamuwa
http://www.countercurrents.org/ilangamuwa140914.htm
The latest autobiography written by an eminent human rights defender and jurist, Basil Fernando, a self-exiled son of this nation, is able to light the candle of new discourse with rich narratives of his personal life. This is a careful selection of his life story which takes up a quarter of his life as a human rights activist and a poet. Most certainly Basil has faced a great deal more in his seven decades of life but for some reason he has chosen to ignore much of it while writing this autobiography
Outsourcing Love: Globalization, Care Economy
And Its Impact On Social Relations Within Families
By Shalu Nigam
http://www.countercurrents.org/nigam140914.htm
The economic growth in India is not resulting in equitable distribution of wealth, resources or improvement in quality of life for all its inhabitants. Moreover, globalization is making a drastic impact on social relations as well as love, care, and emotions within a family, and in general, creating a situation which is adverse for women and children. It may be said that the city is becoming a symbol of a power, status, sumptuousness, opulence and affluence where the desire for money, wealth, status and professional achievement is surpassing the desire for love, care, affection and above all humaneness

"One swallow doesn't make a summer" is the response given by BJP spokesperson Jay Narayan Vyas to the statement made by Madhya Pradesh BJP vice president and MLA, Usha Thakur, seeking a ban on entry of Muslim youths in 'garba' in MP, during the festive navratri. There are also guidelines on the 'dress code' for girls, decent to be precise, to defend themselves from the so called 'love jihad'
