Driver hits Denver restaurant

DENVER - A Toyota Prius damaged a Denver restaurant Tuesday morning.
Denver police say the driver of the Prius
mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the break [sic],
causing the car to crash into Pho Saigon Restaurant in the 1500 block of South Colorado Boulevard.
How was this determination made? Is it simply SPECULATION?
Did the BRAKES fail? Did the TOYOTA PRIUS suddenly accelerate?
The year of the TOYOTA PRIUS is not disclosed - have there been other complaints filed?
Have other drivers of TOYOTA PRIUS experienced similar problems?
How come the National Car Wash Association knows which vehicles are prone to SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION and consumers lack that information?
Logic seems to reveal that when you pull into a parking lot, the driver's foot is on the BRAKE....why the speculation about PEDDLE CONFUSION?
No one was injured in the crash. The extent of the damage to the building is unknown.
It's not known at this time if charges will be filed against the driver.
