WHAT ERA ARE WE IN? The town of Rochelle, Georgia is one of the few remaining places left in America that allows “whites-only” proms in its high school. But the offensive gesture doesn’t stop there. When our attorneys went to investigate this matter, the mayor of the town used his car to block us and then screamed and threatened our attorneys with arrest. The chief of police made it clear that we needed to let him know if we ever came back to Rochelle. Well, we’re back – and we’re suing them. It’s criminal that in this day and age, such blatant racism is allowed to happen. The town has less than 60 days to stop violating the health of its black residents before Earthjustice takes it to court.
