Pond Scum?

Sounds like Gomez will fit right in with the Tea Bagger Wackos in Washington, but this isn't what we need at such a crucial time in our history.

Massachusetts has made the mistake in the past of electing candidates with no voting history. Let's not repeat our past bad decisions.

From SHNS:

FRESH WATER INSULTS: Republican opponent Gabe Gomez called Ed Markey "pond
scum"
yesterday during an interview. So, yeah, that's where this race has gone.
Awesome.

Reporter: You mentioned your ad...there's some talk about this is a sign of desperation.

Gomez: Ed Markey is dirty Ed Markey. For a guy let me frame it this way, for a guy to come out with his first web video to put me next to Osama Bin Laden, a former navy seal, maybe he doesn't understand who actually killed Bin Laden. All because I criticized the president and was critical of him because they released so much classified info regarding that raid that even Sec Fineguard....Sen Feinstein came out...and it put sthe troops in harms way. And not only put the troops in harms way but their families in harms way. Now we know what unit conducted the raids, what kind of aircraft they flew in there, and even made a movie about it afterwards.

Reporter: So the offense was putting you side by side on the screen.

Gomez: I don't think there's anything more offens...you know I've got 4 young kids, and they gotta sit there and see an ad with their dad who served honorably, talk to anybody I served with whether as a pilot or a seal. For him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to like put me up to Bin Laden, he's just gotta be called what he is. That simple.

Reporter: You say in the ad he blamed you for Newtown.

Gomez: Well then he puts that ad up there, inferring basically, Ed, you know Congressman Markey's been around 40 years he knows exactly what he's doing okay. He can hide behind all his lawyerly discussions about I didn't say this. It's just like, Congressman Markey cannot defend the fact he has not authored a single piece of legislation in the last 20 years that has been signed by the president. But he comes back with these lawyerly explanations and all that he's a lawyer he's going to litigate everything. But the facts are I've go the facts on my side.

Reporter: But the fact that he "blamed you for Newtown"...

Gomez: Well we can watch the ad and you can see that he infers it yeah.

Reporter: He infers it by saying that you are against assault weapons like the ones used in Newtowne.

Gomez: He knows what ads do. Congressman Markey's been around 40 years he knows exactly what he's doing.

Reporter: Is the Assault Weapons Ban...

Will Ritter: Thanks. I thought we were going to do one question here? (Gomez walks away)
