Cape Wind Now!

The Dirty Energy Koch Brothers are on the wrong side and it's not yours!
Please add your name to support Cape Wind Now!

The Tea Baggers' Brainwashing

There are so many loathsome things about dirty energy billionaire Bill Koch’s ramblings on Cape Wind in a recent interview with CommonWealth Magazine's Bruce Mohl that it’s hard to know where to start. His dismissal of renewable energy’s environmental and climate benefits as “BS arguments”? His blatant NIMBYism? His climate change denial? His hypocrisy? His greed?

Perhaps the most disturbing element of the interview was Koch’s unapologetic disclosure of his strategy to stop Cape Wind from getting built: “Delay, delay, delay.” So, now it’s official: Koch is trying to bog down Cape Wind until we give up.

But we’re not going to give up on clean air, green jobs and fighting climate change with homegrown renewable energy. We can stop Koch from delaying Cape Wind—and kick-start America’s offshore wind industry right in his backyard— by showing how much public support we have.

Don’t let Bill Koch delay Cape Wind any longer: ask your friends and family to join us in building Cape Wind NOW!

In the CommonWealth interview, Koch details how he has attempted to influence the political and legal process, from installing lobbyists in Washington to funding an opposition front on the Cape, which goes by the name of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound. It is through this non-profit group, which masquerades as an environmental organization, that Koch has executed his “delay, delay, delay” strategy of launching flimsy lawsuits focused on stalling Cape Wind.

We know that even a powerful billionaire can’t win against the people, united. That’s why we launched Cape Wind Now—to expose how Koch and his mouthpieces are trying to stop Cape Wind, a project with a history of massive public support. Now, we need an even bigger coalition pulling together to push Cape Wind over the finish line.

Ask your friends and family to take action in support of Cape Wind!

With a string of positive developments in recent months, we’re gaining momentum and influential support from politicians and the media. In response to the Koch interview, ClimateProgress’s Michael Conathan wrote, “With Cape Wind on the cusp of a successful conclusion to its decade-long effort to bring local renewable energy to Massachusetts, the time is now to redouble efforts to ensure this tyrant doesn’t get his way.” The time is now, and we need your help.

Now is the time to get involved—recruit friends and family to make Cape Wind a reality!

We have an opening. Now’s the time to make sure that your representatives know that you object to Bill Koch calling the shots for Cape Wind and our energy future. Koch said, “The concept of getting alternative energy that’s going to save the earth is not consistent with what people want.” He couldn’t be more wrong. To ensure that Koch’s message is not the one deciding Cape Wind’s fate in Washington, let’s answer his arrogant challenge and “bring it on, baby.”

With many thanks,

Sue Reid
