Rep. Darrell Issa Going Postal!

What must we sacrifice because of Republican Failed Economic Policy?

Rep. Darrell Issa is trying to cut 100,000 jobs from the United States Postal Service (USPS) and cripple postal workers’ right to collective bargaining. Join CREDO and Daily Kos to tell Congress: Oppose the Postal Reform Act of 2013.

Issa’s Postal “Reform” Act would cripple the USPS—eliminating Saturday deliveries and door-to-door service for millions of Americans.

But here’s the real kicker: USPS doesn’t need to cut jobs or eliminate services. What it needs is an end to a disastrous pre-funding mandate, which requires the postal service to guarantee retiree health care and pension benefits for 75 years—a Bush-era mandate that no other government agency or private company is forced to do.

Keep fighting,

Tell Congress: Oppose the Republican plan to cripple the USPS

No more Saturday mail delivery. No more door-to-door mail service for millions of Americans.

Rep. Darrell Issa’s Postal Reform Act would implement these drastic changes to the postal service while slashing over 100,000 mail carrier jobs, directly attacking postal employees’ collective-bargaining rights, and creating a new and entirely unnecessary oversight committee.

The postal service doesn’t need new bureaucracy. It doesn’t even need to cut jobs or services. What it needs is an end to the disastrous pre-funding mandate, which requires the postal service to guarantee retiree health care and pension benefits for 75 years—a Bush-era mandate that no other government agency or private company is forced to do.

Join CREDO and Daily Kos to tell Congress: Oppose the Postal Reform Act of 2013.
