Woefully misinformed.....

Republicans thrive on perpetuating ignorance and misinformation....they have nothing to offer except VooDoo Economics that has failed repeatedly.

Republican Moral Bankruptcy has no other platform than to oppose providing Affordable Health Care for ALL Americans and promoting HATE.

Universal health care: Americans are grossly misinformed

July 30, 2013
Ask most Americans about universal health care and you will get a resounding lecture about the evils of socialized medicine.

If you ask Americans why their health care prices are so expensive compared to the rest of the world, they will proudly announce that it’s because health care in the United states is the best in the world.

But that’s far from the truth.

The United States health care system is ranked 37th in the world, which is far behind most other advanced countries. Yet compared to every other country in the world, Americans pay the highest prices for health care, bankrupting far too many people with or without insurance.

An American Who Lives In Japan

Recently I read an article titled Fukuoka Birth Clinic, written by an American, Aonghus Crowe, who splits his time living in Lebanon and Japan.

Many Americans are under the false assumption that countries with universal health care are all behind the times, and offer less quality health care compared to the United States. Maybe that's why Mr. Crowe included pictures in his article revealing a beautiful birth clinic in Japan.

Unfortunately Americans falsely believe that most health care outside the USA encompasses antiquated facilities and improperly educated doctors. This too far from the truth.

Eye Opening Experience

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a Medical Tourism conference in Chicago, Illinois. Medical Tourism is the act of going to a country other than your own for medical treatment, usually to save money. Click here to see a short video.

People attended this Medical Tourism conference from all over the world and I had the opportunity to speak with people from many different countries.

A Canadian Reveals A Different Story
I spoke with a Canadian who owns a medical tourism business in Canada. I asked him if he receives many requests from Canadians to go the United States for medical treatment. He chuckled and replied,
“I get virtually no requests to go the United States. Why would anyone select the most expensive place in the world, when just as good if not better care can be received for a fraction of the cost elsewhere?”
The next day I spoke with a woman from France.
She stated, "I feel so lucky to be a French citizen. I feel sorry for Americans because they have to pay so much money for health care".
Belgium Health Care
I also spoke with an American Chiropractor who resides in Belgium with his wife and three children.
He said, “In Belgium my family pays a health care tax that totals about $150 monthly. There is very little to no wait to see a doctor and I can see any doctor I want, all is paid for in full”.
The American residing in Belgium also voiced confusion about his fellow Americans willingness to pay so much more for health care insurance, co-pays, deductibles, etc.

He added that he enjoys having more money in his pocket, rather than paying so much more for health care insurance with no guarantees.

Just before he turned to walk away, he smiled a sheepish grin and muttered, “So much for land of the free… eh?”

Universal Health Care Coverage Allows You To Keep More Cash

Question There is only one country in the world with a government that allows a hospital to charge its people $10 for an aspirin in order to maximize corporate profits. Can you name the country that permits such business practices?

Hopefully the Affordable Care Act will work towards protecting all Americans, only time will tell.
