Emails tie top Christie aide to GWB closures --'Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee' 08 Jan 2014 Gov. Chris Christie's deputy chief of staff had advance knowledge of a plan to shut down local access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in September, and was aware that the closures would snarl traffic on Fort Lee streets, according to documents obtained by The Star-Ledger. "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee," read an email message from the deputy, Bridget Anne Kelly, dated Aug. 13, nearly a month before the Sept. 9-13 closures, which snarled traffic and sparked a scandal that has drawn national attention. The email was sent to David Wildstein, the former official at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who gave the direct order to the bridge manager close the lanes. Wildstein received the 7:34 a.m. email on his personal Gmail account from Kelly's personal Yahoo account. Wildstein responded, "Got it."

In at least two of those instances, response time doubled, noted EMS coordinator Paul Favia, who documented those cases in a Sept. 10 letter to Mayor Mark Sokolich, which The Record obtained.

Paul's announcement came one day after Yahoo News reported the White House favors scrapping the Authorization for the Use of Military Force in Iraq, signed into law in late 2002 by then-President [sic] George W. Bush. "This bill will ensure that our chapter of action in Iraq is officially closed, and that any future President seeking to engage in the region will be required to come to Congress to gain authorization and support, as is Constitutionally required," Paul wrote in a letter to colleagues obtained by Yahoo News.

Judge Blocks Part of N.Y.U.'s Plan for Four Towers in Greenwich Village 08 Jan 2014 A state judge on Tuesday unexpectedly blocked about half of New York University's large and hotly debated expansion plan to build four towers in the school's leafy and largely low-scale Greenwich Village neighborhood. The judge, Donna M. Mills, of State Supreme Court in Manhattan, ruled that the administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg had wrongfully agreed to turn over three public parks to the university to enable construction without first obtaining approval from the State Legislature. Still, the university [insanely] insisted that the ruling would permit it to move forward with its largest building, a one-million-square-foot academic tower that would be erected on the site of the university's gym.
