Israel Attacks UN Shelter Again, 10 Dead
By Ma'an News Agency

http://www.countercurrents.org/maan030814.htm

10 Palestinians were killed on Sunday after Israeli shells hit a UN school in Rafah where thousands of people were sheltering from the ongoing Israeli offensive. At least 30 were injured in the strike, according to Ministry of Health spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra. The strikes brought Sunday morning's death toll in Gaza to 50, as Israeli forces have pounded the besieged coastal enclave relentlessly by land, sea, and air. More than 1,752 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 10,000 injured since Israel launched its assault

We Shall Live To Tell The Stories Of War Crimes In Gaza
By Hana Baalousha

http://www.countercurrents.org/baalousha030814.htm

No words can justify what is happening to children today in Gaza. Nothing can justify killing the innocence of our babies and children. And nothing can justify the world’s silence. As long as this bloodshed continues, the whole world will be an accomplice in these war crimes. As long as we live, we shall not forgive. And we shall live to tell the story

Video: Israeli Soldiers Destroy Gaza Mosque, Dedicate Explosion To Dead Comrades
By Ali Abunimah

http://www.countercurrents.org/abunimah030814.htm

This video uploaded to YouTube on 31 July is titled in Hebrew “Israeli army forces detonate a mosque with 11 tons of explosives.” The Israeli soldiers apparently from the Givati brigade dedicate the mosque destruction to their fallen comrades and cheer as a massive explosion obliterates it

The Return of George Orwell and Big Brother’s War On Israel, Ukraine and Truth
By John Pilger

http://www.countercurrents.org/pilger030814.htm

Like Iraq’s embargoed infants, and Afghanistan’s “liberated” women and girls, terrorised by the CIA’s warlords, these ethnic people of Ukraine are media unpeople in the west, their suffering and the atrocities committed against them minimised, or suppressed. No sense of the scale of the regime’s assault is reported in the mainstream western media

Let's Win Back Our Humanity
By Imraan Ahmed

http://www.countercurrents.org/ahmed030814.htm

How have we evolved if we still struggle with a basic tenet of Human Rights, that of learning to value every human life equally. Western ideologies and values have taken us many more steps backwards than anybody dares to admit and challenge. Capitalism, win at all costs, survival of the fittest is what our future leaders get taught not humanity, compassion and care. But we have to wake up. Fight, Boycott. Write. Petition. March in solidarity. Scream. Debate. STOP and regain our humanity before it is too late

Action Against Israel Requires A Global Uprising
By Nilantha Ilangamuwa

http://www.countercurrents.org/ilangamuwa030814.htm

How long is the world going to sit back and watch? How scared must we become before we stand up against the tyrant? It is time to tame the unjust and this requires a global uprising to establish the real freedom among us. In other words, while we live let us live (Dum vivimus vivamus), is most important challenge which is screaming through those who lost their lives due to the occupation in the Gaza strip

Inhuman Attack On UN School By Israel: UN Must Develop Standing Peacekeeping Force
By Dr. Vivek Kumar Srivastava

http://www.countercurrents.org/srivastava030814.htm

We must recognize that world is passing through a critical phase. The whole world must unite to stop the attacks and UN must also realize its role. Moreover the world leaders need to have fresh rethinking on the reform of UN. It must now have a standing Peace Keeping force of its own. The attack on UN schools must be condemned and new steps need to be taken immediately to deal with such fatal eventualities

PR pieces in Forbes and the New Yorker cannot stop the awakening of millions of farmers and consumers to the very real dangers of genetically-modified organisms in our food and the shortcomings and failures of the industrial food system which is destroying the planet and our health

Israeli Forces Pound Rafah Overnight, Killing Dozens
By Ma'an News Agency

http://www.countercurrents.org/maan020814.htm

Israeli forces continued its assault on Gaza for a 26th day on Saturday, killing over 50 Palestinians as airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted houses and mosques across the Strip. At least 35 of the Palestinians killed overnight were slain in Rafah, a day after an incident in the southern city led to the collapse of an agreed-upon 72-hour ceasefire. The death toll since the beginning of the Israeli offensive has surpassed 1,650, according to the ministry of health. Over 8,700 Palestinians ave been injured

American Complicity In Israel’s War Crimes
By Alan Hart

http://www.countercurrents.org/hart020814.htm

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon was right when, after saying that “All the evidence points to Israeli artillery as the cause” (of the attack on the UN school in the Jabaliya refugee camp where more than 3,000 Palestinians were taking shelter from Israeli bombs and shells), he added the following. “Nothing is more shameful than attacking sleeping children.” But there is, I say, something as shameful – the complicity of America’s corrupt political system in Israel’s war crimes

A Nail in Zionism’s Coffin?
By Franklin Lamb

http://www.countercurrents.org/lamb020814.htm

This region, and increasingly the global community as a whole, is planning for a post-Zionist Middle East and how best to achieve it without further suffering. The Zionist regime can stop the slaughter in Gaza; it can withdraw from Palestinian lands through agreement with international norms and UN resolutions, or, sooner or later, it will very likely cease to exist

Gaza Burning (Again)
By George Capaccio

http://www.countercurrents.org/capaccio020814.htm

No one gets a pass. We are all implicated in this struggle and obliged to oppose collective punishment and the transformation of Palestinian land into a killing zone where no one is safe, and everyone—whether a child playing in the street, a mother nursing an infant, an old man taking his rest—is to be considered a terrorist and therefore a target
