A picture is worth a thousand words -- and in this case, none of them are good:
Just yesterday, NRA leader Wayne LaPierre sat right next to President Trump as he held his first meeting about his Supreme Court nominee.
The NRA literally has a seat at the table when it comes to controlling our laws -- despite the fact that their extreme views are completely out-of-step with the vast majority of the American people. It's deeply concerning to see Wayne LaPierre at the table with Trump in a meeting about this important nomination.
With one click, send a message directly to Sens. Warren and Markey. Urge them to ask Trump's Supreme Court nominee tough questions about where he stands when it comes to upholding our public safety laws.
We shouldn't be so surprised that Trump is cozying up to Wayne LaPierre and other gun lobby cronies. The NRA was one of the first organizations to back Trump's divisive campaign, and they poured over $30 million into the race to get him elected. They'll be expecting to get what they paid for -- and LaPierre's presence was a clear sign that Trump is already aggressively currying their favor.
Gorsuch's record doesn't tell us too much about whether or not he'll uphold our public safety laws -- but we do know that he's ruled multiple times to make it easier for felons to get guns. And now that the NRA has Trump's ear, they'll be pushing their extremist "guns everywhere" agenda by any means necessary. That's why we need to know where Gorsuch stands when it comes to enforcing our gun laws.
Automatically send a message to your senator. Demand they find out whether Gorsuch believes what we know to be true: that the Second Amendment doesn't conflict with common sense gun laws.
Thank you for speaking up,
