Right now, a group of Republican senators are fighting to block popular, common-sense measures to reduce gun violence.
Make no mistake: These senators don't want to merely vote against the bill -- they want to actually prevent it from ever coming to a vote on the Senate floor.
They think you've stopped paying attention and that they can quietly deny the families of Newtown, Aurora, Oak Creek, and so many other communities across the country ripped apart by gun violence the simple up-or-down vote they deserve.
Show them you haven't forgotten: Watch and share this video.
Then ask your family and friends to add their name and demand that these senators allow a vote to happen:
At what point are Republicans accountable for their lack of votes, for their obstruction and for their extremism?
Most Americans are NOT NRA members.
Most Americans recognize that sensible gun control will prevent tragedies.
It's time to stop the GOP Extremism and ask for a vote.
Newtown could be Your Town.
The Senate will vote TOMORROW on whether to take on gun violence. Republicans are already threatening to filibuster. They don’t think that we -- or the victims of Newtown -- deserve a vote. We need 100,000 people in order to prove them wrong.

Moments ago, we learned the U.S. Senate will vote on Thursday to break a 13-Senator filibuster of legislation to reduce gun violence.
That means we have forty-eight hours to get sixty votes before we can begin debate on issues like expanded background checks.
The good news is, several Republican Senators have signaled that we deserve an up-or-down vote on these issues.
But we need to convince a few more before the clock runs out.
Can we count on you to contribute $10 to our organization, Americans for Responsible Solutions, to help us run a campaign to break the filibuster?

Twenty first graders lost their lives in the classrooms of Connecticut. Six Arizonans lost their lives coming to meet Gabby in Tucson. Thousands and thousands of our fellow citizens lose their lives to gun violence every year. We cannot allow these 13 senators to deny those victims and their families the vote they deserve.
Let's break this filibuster and pass expanded background checks.
All the best,
Gabby Giffords & Mark Kelly
