Yaritza was surrendered by the only family she has ever known due to lack of space. We are told she lived with 8 adults, is housetrained, has lived with other dogs and likes to play, has no experience with cats, is friendly to all and knows 'sit', 'stay' and 'paw'. Yaritza was scared walking past a row of kennels of barking dogs and had to be coaxed gently to come with me. Once outside, her tail wagged a bit and she 'took care of business'. She's clearly concerned about her change in circumstance. She looks like she has been a well taken care of family companion; her coat is clean and groomed, her weight is good and she's soft and easy. Her leash manners are excellent and she takes treats gently. It was pouring when we first went out and she was a good sport about it, and enjoyed the toweling off process once inside again. We went out again later in the day, and while she was a bit more relaxed is still a bit shy. She's a beautiful girl that is looking for a new family to take care of, and if you are the lucky one, it could be yours. Be sure to meet her today.

Due to overcrowded conditions at the shelter the code red dogs must be tagged and out of the shelter by 5:00pm tomorrow (Wednesday). There are many great dogs on this list.
