8 dogs❃❂❁❀✿✾✺✹, single digits. Maybe you are thinking, wow that's great, only eight. I'll take a deep breathe or take the night off. But for THESE 8 dogs the reality is real. Death is their sentence tomorrow. Wouldn't it be great if we all worked together and showed the ACC, its a no kill day tomorrow, because these 'elite eight' all have homes? WE can DO that! Those eyes looking at you are REALLY hoping that that dream will come true!

Tabby was rescued from ACC in 2010. He was a frightened stray, but also a gentle boy with eyes that could reach in and touch your soul. He was renamed Harley and adopted by a loving couple in NYC. ASB was notified today that there was an eviction and Harley is now back at Manhattan ACC. Frightened and vulnerable, once again. We are upset and saddened, not only for Harley, but also for his family who is faced with enormous stress and loss. We are determined to get Harley out of the shelter as soon as possible and provide him with the vet care he needs. His recent medical indicates he is dehydrated, has dental issues, and a possible heart murmur. Please help us save Harley. - See more at:

UPDATE on Jazz, a sweet 5 year old kitty we pulled from a kill list in mid June. She was sick with URI at first (of course) but then got better. Then she stoppe...d eating in a foster home. I took her back and noticed her ears were - yellow. We rushed her to a vet hospital in Williamsburg which ran a bunch of tests (xray, ultrasound, biopsy, etc) that - she has lipidosis and needs a feeding tube. She is on IV fluids and meds. After spending over $2000 on tests, we took her to Dr C who inserted a feeding tube and is keeping her until she gets better. SHE WILL GET BETTER!
Above are updated pics of Jazz.
So far Jazz's vet bill is $2076.65 (we will scan and post receipts if you want) and counting. Please consider helping them pay it.
Thank you

**** VERY IMPORTANT ** NEEDS OUR HELP NOW ***** PLEASE SHARE WITH ANYONE THAT CAN HELP ***
Hi, I need help!!! ASAP
Trying to save a dog that was NEVER give a fair chance, by her past owners OR her current rescue.
She now faces to be put to sleep by ...the current rescue that pulled her.
Here is more about the situation. Please help if you can.
I have a dog in my care as a foster for about 4months now. Her name was Lexi and I renamed her Deja-Boo or as some of your may know her "the duck tape dog". (www.wnep.com and search "The duct tape dog") you will find her story.
Luzerne Count Pit Bull Owners Groups (LCPO) from Northeast Pennsylvania, currently changed their name to "A Positive Promise Pit Bull Foundation" pulled this dog Lexi (now Deja) from Dessin Animal Shelter in Honesdale, Pa.
They had no issues posting they have the dog in their care gaining a lot of attention and also raising funds for the dogs medical.
Which there are unpaid vet bills for her buy this rescue that I MYSELF just paid! (not the rescue)
Upon pulling her, they said they were told by the shelter and witnessed themselves the dog has some behavior issues. Being afraid of some people (especially, men) is one. LCPO (A Positive Promise Pit Bull Foundation) gave her a bath and brought her right to my house. No evaluation was done on the dog and a home check was done on me the DAY they brought the dog to me. (nothing prior).
During the time this dog is in my care her behavior issues were not addressed. They had one of their trainers, Erin come to my home to show me how to teach the dog "leave it" and "look". Still not addressing her fear based reactive behavior. I have my son who is 15 living with me and he is afraid of this dog. I also accumulated another job and have had some live changing alterations happen to where I am not able to give this dog the full attention she needs. I was not guided with proper training to help this dog move forward.
I have seen LCPO members two times since I had this dog. Once when then dropped off the dog and once when the trainer came by several months after she was here as I stated above. Other then that it was internet or phone connection of them wanting updated photos.
With the little knowledge I have of training, I and several of my friend and family can manage this dog without any issues.
So I do not feel this dog should DIE because LCPO ( A Positive Promise Pit Bull Foundation) does not want to or can not address her PROPERLY. They have not reached out to the public, other organizations or trainers to seek help for this dog!!! So how do they know the issues she has now can not be addressed!!??
On top of all of this I live not to far from this dogs abuser. So the rescue (LCPO) did and does not take into consideration the safety of this dog or me and my family.
LCPO is contacting me with three choices.
1 - for ME to put the dog to sleep
2- for them to take her and put her to sleep or
3- for the cops to be called and them take her to be put to sleep.
They are bullying me into killing this dog!! They recently just sent me a message saying they will have the dog warden break down my door!!!!!!
THIS DOG DOES NOT DESERVE TO DIE WITH THE LACK OF EFFORT PUT INTO HELPING HER!!!
PLEASE HELP ME!! PLEASE HELP DEJA- BOO!!

08/14/2013 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Laying quietly in her kennel, Natasha stands up when she sees me, signaling her need to go out. Likely housetrained, she 'went' as soon as we exited the building. Natasha is a full figured girl in a clean and nicely groomed caramel coat. Her tail wags in rhythm to her walk, and her leash manners are excellent. She never once pulls, just walks at a nice pace with her tail keeping the beat! She sits on command and goes into an immediately down - someone taught her nicely! As other dogs pass us, both big and small, she wags her tail in friendship, going into a small play bow for some. An off leash dog came charging toward us and she nicely wagged her tail at him, totally unfazed by his display of bad manners! Good girl Natasha! Natasha has clearly been a family companion and is looking forward to beginning life anew. She's a gentle, sweet natured girl, a bit stressed at the moment at her change in circumstance. If you are looking for an easy, gentle girl, Natasha is hoping you will come meet her. She's lovely and waiting. A volunteer writes: Natasha is a very attractive dog who caught my eye right away. She, herself noticed at once that I was interested in her and in no time, was up and ready to go out. She made a "grand" exit, saluting every single dog in her ward, tail wagging happily. Her first task was to relieve herself. Natasha's den is always clean... After a nice walk in the street (Natasha is great on the leash), she welcomed all staff present in the yard. Time for play in a den. Natasha enjoyed a few treats and then rapidly elected to hop on the bench and sat next to me for kisses and hugs. She is very demonstrative. More is better for Natasha. Natasha is a beautiful and affectionate female, a big splash of sunshine who will brighten your life if you choose to have her as your forever furry friend.
08/11/2013 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION - EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper 851284 Natasha was surrendered as a stray, but did spend a few days with her finder. She stayed with one adult and one child. Natasha was calm and relaxed during handling. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Natasha was a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. She was not interested in toys. Natasha put body between assessor and rawhide, showing no growling or stiffness. She approached the helper dog calmly, but growled once close to the other dog Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor's hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 2. Dog takes rawhide away, keeps a firm hold. Her body is between you and the rawhide, and she is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Dog - dog 4. Dog was relaxed while approaching the helper dog, but growled while close to the other dog Further investigation into Natasha's behavior around other dogs outside shows primarily avoidance behavior, Natasha appears uninterested in interacting with other dogs, though she is quite social and responsive to her human handler. When the helper dog makes a movement toward her, Natasha reacts with clear warning signs for the other dog to stay away. Natasha needs an experienced owner who will work on this underlying anxiety and will allow her to avoid other dogs so she can remain comfortable. Dog parks and off-leash time with other dogs will not be a safe option until this anxiety is addressed. Other dogs should also be avoided when out on walks.
