Pelham Building Inspector Roland Soucy determined a home at 205 Mammoth Road was uninhabitable after gray 2001 Toyota 4 Runner, driven by Matthew DeCarteret, 41, of Tyngsborough, Mass., crashed into the left side of the dwelling around 12:41 p.m. Thursday.
Pelham Police Lt. Anne Perriello said investigators believe the vehicle, which was heading northbound on Mammoth Road, crossed over into the southbound lane of travel and hit the first floor of the home.
Pelham Fire Lt. Patrick Weaver said DeCarteret was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police said DeCarteret suffered broken bones in his right leg.
Soucy was called to the scene and inspected the damage. He determined that the impact of the crash had caused the home’s foundation to shift. He deemed the home uninhabitable, and Liberty Utilities was called to shut off the power. - See more at: http://www.unionleader.com/safety/SUV-crashes-into-Pelham-home-leaves-5-homeless-02102017#sthash.RXVBZe3k.dpuf
