DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
For more information on a particular dog, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go unnoticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.0>

Urgent Part 2 - Urgent Death Row Dogs added 5 new photos to the album SUPER URGENTS THAT NEED OUT NOW!!!
Look at this handsome man. He looks so regal! This is Rocko. He's been waiting for a forever home for months and months. Please don't make him wait more months and months! It's Black dog syndrome :(
Rocko is good with most other dogs. He is crate-trained and house-trained. Rocko is child friendly too. He is not cat friendly.
Rocko is a perfectly sweet boy who is very smart. He loves to play with tennis balls too. Isn't there someone who wants to adopt our sweet Rocko? He can be transported ALL the way up along the east coast!
He is located in Atlanta, GA
Please email TPPH.adoptions@gmail.com for more information. How can you resist?

Family of FIVE Needs a True Hero in Longview, Texas!!!!
Yesterday, due to their owner's death, these five pups were brought in to the shelter together. Because they were not strays they will NOT be put on stray hold and could die any time!! Of course, a perfect home with room for 5 new dogs would be ideal, but splitting them up is better than losing them all to euthanasia!
"Killer, King, Duke, Mickey and Baby"
... All spayed/neutered!
Adopt at:
Humane Society of Northeast Texas
303 Enterprise
Longview, TX 75604
* (903) 297-2170 *
Open today until 6 pm!!

Dog paralyzed after being thrown against a wall. Help us get him a wheel chair!
▶ http://www.hendrickboards.com/ shop/ critical-needs-circles?tracking =513133adeaed4
Meet Circles. He is paralyzed due to abuse. He was thrown against a wall during a domestic dispute. Circles will never walk again, never run, never play like a normal dog. His abuser took this all from him. His abuser was NOT charged with animal abuse. He will need continued rehabilitation from suffering 3 crushed vertebrates and may need surgery. Help us raise the funds to get this special guy a wheelchair.
... Second Chance Boxer Rescue, Inc. is the rescue who saved Circles. We have teamed up with them to create the No Animal Without tee dedicated to raising the funds to help Circles in his rehabilitation. With every shirt we can help get Circles the chair he so desperately needs and funds for his rehabilitation.
