At Least 12 Shot During New Orleans Mother’s Day Parade

At least 12 people were reportedly shot at a Mother’s Day Parade in New Orleans on Sunday.
According to WAFB Channel 9 and WWL Channel 4, gunfire broke out at a second-line parade in New Orleans’ 7th Ward earlier today.

New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Ronal Serpas told reporters that the youngest victim is 10 years old and that more than 200 people were present in the area where shots were fired.

Now They Want to Take Away the 8-Hour Day and 40-Hour Week

House Republicans are pushing a bill that takes away extra pay for overtime, substituting "comp" time instead.

If Republicans have their way an 8 hour work day and 40 hour work week will be a thing of the past. Laborers will work longer hours for less pay and will be thankful for it, because if they are not they will be in the street starving begging for a breadcrumb. The GOP has banked on this, to drive wages to low, to make the economy so fierce and competition so stiff that individuals won't be able to protest as they are too busy trying to survive.

Look - if these guys had it their way ... children wouldn't be burdened by governmental regulations that require them to go to school instead of working for $.50 an hour at a chemical factory.

They're trying to eliminate overtime, they are blocking minimum wage increases and they're treating healthcare and education as welfare for the unworking, lazy masses.

They're targeting YOU.
