VoteVets.org : Nearly 365k veterans rely solely on Medicaid for care

Here is the plain, clear-eyed truth about the Republican health care bill being voted on in the Senate later this week: if it passes, veterans will be impacted. Many will lose care. Some will die.

Nearly two million veterans across the country rely on Medicaid, and for around 365,000 of them, it is their only source of health coverage. Without it, they'd be uninsured.

Over the past few months, we have heard from thousands of veterans who stand to lose so much if this bill passes. They've shared their stories and we've shared them with their members of Congress. But today, Congress needs to hear from all of us.

Before the vote - sign VoteVets petition telling Congress that veterans, military family members, and their civilian supporters OPPOSE any effort to take away health care from millions of Americans, including our nation's veterans.

We are only five months in and this administration has proven itself to be an unmitigated disaster for veterans and military families. From escalating our military's involvement oversees and trying to privatize care when service members return, to cutting programs like meals on wheels and instituting a hiring freeze that impacts veterans most.

Now they want to rip health care from almost one million veterans? No way.

All my best,
