by Jocelyn Timperley
In late 2015, the world agreed to limit the global temperature rise to “well below 2C”. Ever since the signing of the Paris Agreement on climate change, scientists, think tanks and policymakers have been scrambling to define exactly what meeting this temperature limit will mean in policy and investment terms. A new report released this week by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is the latest attempt to address this question.

America’s Fraudulent Government
by Eric Zuesse
Jimmy Carter was correct to say that the reality today about the American government is that “Now it’s just an oligarchy with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or being elected president. And the same thing applies to governors, and U.S. Senators and congress members.” It’s one “oligarchy” represented by two Parties, sustaining the myth that it’s still a ‘democracy’. The public are trapped between two styles of actually the same oligarchy.
Honoring the Million-Petaled Flower And Steve Biko
by Richard Oxman
Early this morning, I half-awoke thinking of Steve Biko, who was murdered in the midst of my raising funds for the fight against South African Apartheid. My mother was born in Johanesburg, and had died shortly before Biko was killed. One of her last wishes was for me to make a difference with regard to the battle that Biko was waging in solidarity with the immiserated souls of her birthplace.

Islamic State’s second-in-command, Ayad al-Jumaili, has been killed in an airstrike in al-Qaim region on Iraq’s border with Syria. Insights Of A Cancer Survivor With Indomitable Spirit
by Shobha Shukla
“One night, in the summer of 2013, I felt a twitch in my breast. It was something like if you hurt your toenail. Having a family history of cancer, I did not want to take any chance, and promptly saw my doctor the very next day. He reassured me that there was nothing to worry, more so because there was no lump.”

by Shamsul Islam
Gujarat Assembly on March 31, 2017 passed a new law on cow-slaughter. Anybody involved in this would be awarded life sentence. Next day, in order to outdo Vijay Rupani, CM of Gujarat, the CM of Chattisgarh, Raman Singh announced that anybody found doing it would be hanged. These two chief ministers, if they are serious in revering mother cow, must ask RSS/BJP to begin this process in Goa, Manipur and Arunachal where despite RSS/BJP governments beef is officially available. The rulers there should be tried hanged or imprisoned for life.

To convert sanity into lunacy
To transform the meanings
Of `peace and harmony’.
